Chroma Squad

‘Played for: Less than an hour’

Damnit, it was like 59 minutes…

After a dispute with their director, sentai team Chroma Squad decide to go indie and start recording episodes themselves. Player takes the role of new director, overseeing the action and making budgeting decisions behind the scenes.

The story is a little hard to follow? It feels like it’s trying to imply that everything happening is actually real, unbenknownst even to Chroma Squad themselves; ‘we are acting’ and ‘we are just talking out of character’ moments blend together back and forth, sometimes within the same chunk of dialogue, and I’m finding it hard to follow.

Gameplay though is tactical-RPG style (the closest analogue I have is Fire Emblem, but I think XCOM is probably closer) which means, of course, it’s sucked me in like a black hole and all the free time in the universe has suddenly vanished.

Also, the music is really good.

Fin or Bin:

I’m actually not super into it, but it’s an SRPG, so regardless I’m not going to be able to think about anything else until I Finish it.
